CycleBar LoHi opens this week! Woot!
This afternoon, I am heading to a VIP ride and party to celebrate CycleBar’s new studio opening tomorrow in Denver’s Lower Highlands (LoHi) neighborhood. Anyone who knows me knows that CycleBar is (*by far*) my favorite workout.
So what is CycleBar?? It’s a workout studio that features indoor spin classes.
I’m slightly obsessed and here are my top five reasons:
one. It’s a super efficient workout. I typically burn 500-700 calories per 50-minute class.
two. It’s actually really fun. Are there moments I feel like I want to die? Of course. BUT the atmosphere mimics a party. I actually had an instructor once tell me that the classes are like a “dance party on a bike.” This description rings true – complete with loud music and dark lighting. Oh and Theme rides, Happy Hour rides, DJ rides, and Mash Up rides.
three. It’s competitive. CycleBar keeps your stats while you ride and (if you want to), you can compete with other riders in the class. I LOVE this about CycleBar. Even if I’m feeling unmotivated to work out, the second I see my name up on the board, it makes me want to push even harder.
four. It’s a full-body workout. Yes, you stay on your bike the entire time, but in most classes, there are several minutes dedicated to an arm workout. Each bike is equipped with a bar (hence “bar” in the name) that is used for bicep curls, tricep extensions and all of the other “moves” that make my arms feel like jello.
five. You don’t need any equipment. Shoes are provided. Water bottles are provided. And if you accidentally leave your workout clothes at home (or you just want to add some amazing items to your workout wardrobe), they have the cutest workout gear for purchase.
