This look is inspired by all of the army green trending for this spring. It helps that I’ll never turn down the opportunity to wear camo anything. Admittedly, it always feels a bit nostalgic – my high school mascot was a Cougar, so everyone wore camo to football games as we welcomed our opponents into “the jungle.” This is still a tradition and I am definitely envious of the variety of camo options available now…camo (at least cute camo) did not seem as accessible in those days… (wink, wink).
Army green and camo can seem a bit masculine, so here are some tips for styling camo pants:
- Add feminine details. I love the lace detail in this top by Trouve. Since it is combined with mesh, the texture feels sturdy enough to pair with the camo. (Although I’d probably even wear a more dainty lace with these pants…)
- Pair with neutrals. I tend to wear camo with black, white or a coordinating olive green. Black is my favorite (as always), but I’ve been loving gray options (see here) or even a graphic tee (LOVE this one).
- Choose shoes wisely. Camo pants can seem bulky, so if you’re wanting a sleek look, pair with heels or fashion-style athletic shoes (like these). I wear the booties pictured all. the. time. and love how they coordinate with the mesh top.
