Yellow Shein Blouse and White Demin…

This post features one of my favorite spring blouses. I have worn this over and over again…and am still in love. It is light, breezy and the lace detail is simply stunning.

This blouse inspired me to hunt for more yellow faves for spring. I’ve linked my finds below:

This JCrew summer sweater is the most cheerful shade of yellow. I love the embroidery detail and its lightweight fabric is perfect for summer.
Madewell’s Apron Crosshatch Tank is the cutest! The button detail on the back is my favorite.
I’m obsessed with the Statement Earring Trend and am currently craving these: Kate Spade, MISA, and Baublebar.
This Free People dress has gorgeous embroidery and would be perfect for a Cinco de Mayo-inspired celebration.
I love this light-weight sweater (currently on sale!) that features an interesting, asymmetrical neckline and a high low hem.

White Lace Top and White Denim Seven Jeans…

Being a girly-girl, I have been loving the latest fashion trends that include lace and ruffles. Since I spend my days in an office that requires more structured, business-like clothing, frilly details are a welcomed change when I am planning an outfit for a night out or a weekend event. I have been gravitating toward white lately (I think my last online shopping shipment included eight white, lace shirts!), but have also loved adding more bright colors to my closet, like yellow, blush and red.

I ordered the top above from SheIn. SheIn.com is one of my favorite sites for trendy pieces. I will admit that the fit is hit or miss, but free shipping for orders and returns makes it any easy online shopping experience. Please note: Anything I post on my blog has been tried and tested.

When wearing lace tops, keep these tips in mind:

Let the lace be the focus. Pair an intricate lace top with plain, structured jeans or pants. Similarly, when wearing a lace skirt, keep the top simple. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward lace skirts with graphic tees.
Wear understated or simple jewelry. (I love this simple necklace/earring combo with lace tops.)
Consider a monochromatic look when lace pieces are neutral colors.

Walking on Sunshine…

Happy Thursday!

I absolutely adore the color yellow. It is so bright, so fun and I’m excited to see pops of yellow in late fall fashion trends…yay, yay, yay! Makes you feel like you are walking on sunshine even when the temps are getting cooler. This dress is now on sale for under $15! They also carry it in blue. Check it out here.

I love wearing the latest trends and SheIn is my go-to lately. I’ve ordered several items and LOVE them all. The price is right and the shipping is speedy. What is not to love? As with any online ordering, it is important to pay attention to the fabric description and measurements (especially length for me). Thankfully SheIn does an excellent job including all necessary descriptive details of each item.

Let’s talk accessories. These earrings are my favorite. They are from Laura Windsor Jewelry. I want a pair in every color!

My ring is BaubleBar and I love it so much that I may or may not have coordinated a few outfits around the ring since I purchased it. (Have you ever done that??) Unfortunately, this one is currently sold out (bring it back BaubleBar!!), but I’ve linked similar styles here and here.

True Decadence Lace Tiered Midi Dress…

I’ve been loving ASOS lately and found this dress on a whim while searching for a dress for a Fourth of July party. The pastel, lace, ruffles…everything about this dress is girly, flirty and fun. If you are looking for something different, yet comfortable and easy to wear, this is a great choice.

This gingham number is perfect for any July 4th (or summer) party.
I love this swing dress. I typically shy away from this style because of length, but this cut is made specifically for frames 5’9″ and above. This dress would be perfect for any weekend festivities or a trip to the beach.
This dress is just gorgeous. It would be perfect for a summer/fall wedding.
The detail is what drew me to this dress. I adore the lace and peplum sleeves.

One of my favorite things about living in Colorado is the change of seasons. While summer sunshine and heat will always be my favorite (thank you ASU!), I’m starting to get excited about cooler temps, football and fall fashion. Colorado mornings and evenings are now chili and fall is definitely in the air (but thank goodness my iPhone weather app is still showing upper 80s during the day all next week!)

One of the most challenging aspects of the changing seasons in Colorado is getting dressed. I actually heard someone refer to this issue as “Bipolar-ado” and for those of you that live here, you know what I mean. There are many days I’ve experienced all four seasons in one day – not even kidding. Definitely keeps you on your toes. BUT (silver lining here) think of all of the outfit combos necessary to dress for four seasons in a day!

My bestie, Erin, just visited me over the summer and gave me this cute shirt from JCrew (thanks girlie! I LOVE it!)….I’ve worn it on repeat all summer long with a white skirt or white pants. (Although it is no longer available, I linked a similar style in this post.) I’ve been loving yellow and this skirt’s color is more mustard and makes me think fall. This color combo is one of my favorites and it represents the transition from summer to fall perfectly. Mixing and matching pieces from different seasons is a perfect way to get even more leverage out of your closet. Think basic summer tanks with an updated fall jacket. Or a summer skirt with your favorite fall blazer. What are some of your favorite transition pieces? Would love to know!
