Had to share this dress I found from SheIn. It’s actually on sale now for $13.99! Absolutely love it…easy to throw on over the weekend for errands, but I’ve also worn to work with a blazer! If you haven’t shopped on SheIn, I highly recommend.
What are you all up to this weekend? I plan to be outside as much as possible…loving these late summer days. I know the snow is weeks away, so I’m just trying to soak it all in!
Sharing this amazing Peach & Pepper Cropped Kimono today! I LOVE it! As with all Peach & Pepper items, both the fabric and detail are top-notch. This piece can actually be worn two ways – (1) as shown in the pics above or (2) with the “v” in the front (which is super adorable too!). And sooooooo easy to layer over your favorite black tank!
I’ve paired the cropped kimono with my favorite distressed black jeans from Pink’s, a fun boutique in Denver. The brand is Just Black – length and stretch are perfect and the price point can’t be beat!
My boots are Seychelles…they are oldies, but goodies. You know how some boots have to be worn in and those first few wears are excruciatingly painful?? Not Seychelles! Instantly comfortable. I’ve had this pair for several years and and they have stood the test of time. The Seychelles brand does not disappoint and if you don’t own a pair, you should. Trust me. (I’ve linked several fun Seychelles options below.)
Hope you’re having a nice and relaxing holiday season. I’m LOVING these after-Christmas sales! More to come…

Extensions. Awww. Where to begin? I have a love/hate (more love, not really hate, just frustration) relationship with extensions. My first experience on the extension journey began six years ago. My stylist made my mane longer and fuller with tape-ins. These glorious pieces of hair gave me my new favorite accessory – long hair.
I’ve always struggled with my hair. It is super fine and I’ve kept it very, very blonde. Quickly, I learned that this was not a good combo for growing hair. The bleach used to lift to blonde weakens the hair cuticle making it prone to breaking. I’ve tried everything to get my hair to grow long and healthy – satin pillow cases, deep conditioning treatments, less heat, using only the highest-quality styling tools, limiting ponytails, blah, blah, blah. While I still subscribe to these methods (you can never “baby” your hair too much), I knew I was never going to achieve length without extensions.
So, why do I wear them?
I really struggle with my natural hair. I do not like how thin and fragile it is, although I try to appreciate the good (it is soft and my natural color (dirty blonde) is actually really pretty). I know that without extensions, I will never be able to achieve the length and volume that I love with my natural hair.
Proportionality. Being over six feet tall, I love how extensions create a more proportional “look.” I never really understood the concept of proportionality until recently. I was having a conversation with my stylist (more on her below) and was expressing how I felt like my height was an asset when it came to wearing extensions. She taught me all about proportionality and the importance of understanding how your frame and body type should be considered when choosing hair length and style.
Fun. It may sound silly, but hair really is an amazing accessory. Extensions provide the opportunity to elevate your style in so many ways – curls, braids, and even simple, but chic ponytail options.
Recently, my dear friend and amazing stylist, Shannon Moore, discovered Natural Beaded Row (NBR) hair extensions. I have been wearing them for almost four months now and cannot believe how amazing they are. I consider myself an expert-wearer of hair extensions and these are – by far – my favorite. NBRs have allowed me to wear my hair at a longer length than any other extensions available. They are truly amazing. AND, Shannon is the first certified NBR stylist in Colorado. Check out her You Tube, Instagram and website for more on NBRs.
In the upcoming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about my extension journey, including comparing hair extension methods and the best tips for caring for extensions.

I love midi skirts! The length is perfect for any height, but especially flattering on my tall girls. I also love midis for fall…great transitional piece! They are fun to wear to work and can be styled for nighttime as well. I paired this Milly midi with a simple black long sleeve T, cute heels and simple jewelry.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week. The start to my week was a bit rocky, but as the week has progressed, things have become more settled.
For those of you that know me well, you might know that I attend Flatirons Church. My favorite thing about Flatirons is the environment – all are loved and welcome. My second favorite aspect is that, without fail, there is always something to take away from the sermon and immediately apply to daily life. This Sunday was no different. Over and over again, Jim urged us to focus on loving our neighbor and giving people what they NEED, not what they DESERVE. Powerful, right? In a world with so much hurt, ugliness and devastation, it is easy for me to focus on justice and retribution. But instead, our hearts should be focused on loving people where they are at and giving others what they need right there in that moment. I’ve definitely been thinking about ways to apply this in my own little world. It’s amazing how quickly this mindset has softened me and inspired me to love others in a new way. It has also helped me recognize and appreciate how many amazing people I have in my own life that are loving me right where I am at. I am so grateful for my sweet friends and family that support and love me through it all. (If you want to watch the sermon, click here. It is titled “The Road to Jericho.”)
My sweet friend Audrey took these pictures. I love how she captured the contrast of the beautiful Colorado landscape and this amazing red dress. I (obviously) cannot get enough of this off the shoulder look! The fall fashion looks dominating Instagram right now, have me CLINGING to summer. Don’t get me wrong – I’ll eventually get excited about boots and sweaters, but for now, I’m soaking up all of the sunshine and warm temps. I’ve linked several of my favorite red off the shoulder dresses below. I adore the one with the pompoms!
One of my favorite things about this outfit is these earrings from Bauble Bar. They are stunning, versatile and add a glamorous detail to the right outfit. Here are my other current cravings from Bauble Bar: Geode Drops & Flo Drops.

Have you ever been sitting at dinner with friends and been asked the dreaded political question? Or maybe you love a good political debate and embrace an opportunity to voice your opinion about the latest political hot topic. Unless you are living off the grid, you are well aware that we are knee-deep in political season. As the primaries wrap up (hopefully) and television ads become increasingly more frequent, strong political views will only become stronger, more personal and more evident. Yay.
Although I have considerably strong views about many political issues, I typically try to abide by the adage, “never talk about religion or politics.” I have a few exceptions to this rule – mostly with people I know who are like-minded or someone who has experience, knowledge and opinions that I truly respect.
When I saw this at Nordstrom, I knew I had to buy it immediately. Although I’ve only been through a few elections as a voter, I’ve been through enough to know that I am not a fan of the ugliness that surrounds the division between the political parties. My motto this election season? #letsbefriends
How do you maintain #friendshipstatus during election season? Honestly, I have no idea. But in an effort to be kind, open-minded and more adult-like than just talking to those who agree with me, I plan to follow these simple tips:
F – Facts. Learn the facts. Rely less (or not at all) on biased media outlets and more on non-partisan and reliable sources. (Links to my favs: NPR, The Wall Street Journal and fivethirtyeight.com).
R – Respect. Respect other opinions. If a disagreement arises, keep quiet and listen.
I – Interest. Stay interested. Ask questions. Listen more and talk less. (Wow. I can’t believe I just wrote that. You’re welcome T.)
E – Enjoy. Enjoy the discussion. Enjoy the dialogue. Enjoy the process. Enjoy the differences.
N – Neutral. Stay neutral. One of my favorite people on this earth abides by this rule. You will never know who he votes for or what he believes. He says completely neutral during political conversations. He keeps the emotion out of any political discussion. (Easier said than done for me, but I’ll give it a go.)
D – Debate. If staying neutral is not an option, debate. Stay calm at all costs and approach the debate as an opportunity to learn rather than an opportunity to convince your opponent that they are wrong and you are right.
S – Smile and sweatshirt. When all else fails, let a smile and this sweatshirt do the talking.
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. For me, it was so nice to sit by the fire, relax and play board games with family and friends. I have definitely been monitoring the sales and there are so many great ones out there!
These JCrew Patio Pants are seriously my favorite. AND they are 40% off for Cyber Monday. There are many, many different colors, but I’ve been loving these maroon for the holiday season. Also, I’ve definitely embraced the cropped pants with heels look. I love being able to wear crops because it is easy to disguise the fact that they may be a bit short. However, JCrew sells these in Tall, so it is definitely worth trying both to ensure the perfect fit/length. (Regular length is pictured.)
This blouse if from Nordstrom. I love the brand Leith. Their pieces are very high quality, but reasonably priced. The fit (sleeve length especially) is perfect. The keyhole adds some spice to an otherwise very classy blouse.
My shoes, by Donald J. Pliner, are the BEST. If you don’t own a pair of classic black pumps, you should own these. They are comfortable and easy to wear for 10+ hours. The heel is a perfect height for taller gals because it isn’t too high, but provides the perfect amount of lift for pants and elongating the leg. There are several styles on sale right now – linked here and here.
